Mentioning Mates and Users
When to Use Mentions?
Mentions are an essential tool for structuring and managing interactions in conversations and collaborations. They help attract attention, solicit actions, or simply name participants without immediate interruption. By using the appropriate mentions, you can improve the clarity, relevance, and efficiency of communication.
Steps to Follow
- Actively Mention a Mate:
- When to Use: Use an active mention when you want to directly solicit a response or action from a Mate.
- How to Use:
- Type "@" followed by the Mate’s name. A list of available Mates will appear to facilitate selection.
- Example: "Hello @Growth Planner, can you help me define a marketing strategy?"
- Representation: An active mention is formatted in blue text on a light blue background.
- Passively Mention a Mate:
- When to Use: Use a passive mention to name a Mate without soliciting immediate action, for example, to provide instructions or context.
- How to Use:
- Type "@@" followed by the Mate’s name. A list of available Mates will appear to facilitate selection.
- Example: "For this task, we should involve @@Creatix in the brainstorming."
- Representation: A passive mention is formatted in blue text on a white background.
- Mention Users:
- When to Use: Use a mention to include other users in the conversation or collaboration.
- How to Use:
- Type "@" followed by the user’s name. A list of available users will appear to facilitate selection.
- Example: "@Steve Jobs, could you check this document?"
- Representation: User mentions follow the same formatting rules as Mate mentions.
Importance of the Action
Managing mentions in conversations helps structure and effectively direct communication. Active mentions solicit immediate responses or actions, while passive mentions provide context without interrupting the flow of conversation. Mentioning users helps include the right people in relevant discussions. By using these mentions appropriately, you can enhance the clarity and efficiency of exchanges, as well as the value Mates bring to the conversation.
