Inviting Members to Join the Organization

Action Objective

Inviting members to join the GPT Mates organization allows you to build a team of collaborators who can interact with Mates and other users, contributing to the achievement of the organization's goals.

Steps to Follow

  1. Access the Organization Settings:
    • Click on the black downward arrow next to the organization's name at the top left of the screen.
    • Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
  2. Navigate to the "Members" Tab:
    • Go to the "Members" tab to manage the organization's users.
  3. Invite Members:
    • Click on the "Invite Members" button.
    • In the invitation window, enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite.
    • Select the appropriate role for each group of emails. It is possible to invite multiple people at once by adding several email addresses with the same role or by adding other emails in another role group.

Member Roles

GPT Mates supports different roles for users, each with specific permissions and responsibilities:

  • Owner:
    • Description: "Owners" have the highest permissions within the organization. They can manage all aspects of the organization, including adding and removing members, modifying organization settings, and full access to all resources and data.
    • Example Responsibilities: Member management, organization settings configuration, API key management, access authorization.
  • Admin:
    • Description: "Admins" have high permissions but slightly lower than "Owners". They can manage members, organization settings, and resources, but some critical actions may be reserved for "Owners".
    • Example Responsibilities: Member management, organization settings configuration, resource management.
  • User:
    • Description: "Users" have limited permissions defined by "Owners" and "Admins". They can participate in Chats and Collabs, use Mates, and access shared resources based on the permissions granted to them.
    • Example Responsibilities: Participation in Collabs and Chats, use of Mates, access to documents and resources according to permissions.
  • Viewer:
    • Description: "Viewers" have read-only permissions. They can view resources and conversations but cannot modify or add content.
    • Example Responsibilities: Viewing Chats, Collabs, and shared documents.
  • Suspended:
    • Description: "Suspended" members have their access temporarily disabled. They cannot log in or interact with the organization's resources until their status is reinstated.
    • Example Responsibilities: No interaction allowed until reactivation.

Importance of This Action

Inviting members and assigning them specific roles ensures structured and secure management of permissions within the organization. It also helps clearly define responsibilities and access levels, optimizing collaboration and productivity.
