Copying/Moving a Chat or Collab to Another Workspace

When to Use Copy/Move?

The Copy/Move function allows you to transfer a Chat or Collab from one workspace to another. This is particularly useful when you want to transform a private Chat into a collaborative conversation with other users or reorganize collaborations across different workspaces. By using this feature, you can ensure that conversations and collaborations are appropriately categorized and managed within your organization.

Steps to Follow

1. Initiate the Move/Copy Process:
   • In either a Chat or a Collab, click on the "Move" button at the top right of the conversation.
2. Select the Target Workspace:
   • A modal window will appear prompting you to select the target workspace.
   • Only public workspaces or workspaces to which the member has access will be available for selection. Public workspaces are indicated with an open padlock, while private workspaces are indicated with a closed padlock.
3. Choose to Keep a Copy:
   • Check the "Keep a copy" box to retain a copy of the Chat or Collab in the original workspace. If this box is unchecked, the conversation will be moved.
4. Validate the Move/Copy:
   • Once the target workspace is selected and the copy option is chosen if needed, click "Validate" to complete the process.
